PS3 Specs vs XBox 360 Specs (Part 4)

Please do not get too concentrate with memory capacity and fail to see the processing power of PS3 specs. PS3 specs are measured as 10 times faster than usual computers. I am in no doubt that PS3 specs are way faster than Xbox 360. As much as I know PS3 specs has such extra memory than current WHITE Xbox 360. I know Xbox 360 coming out with BLACK Elite Xbox 360 version but also remember PS3 is also coming with a new design.

The cause I asked you to center on processor speed is that there is no means Microsoft has arise with a faster machine than PS3 specs, mostly by the cost aspects.

So I very recommend you to go to Best Buy and play the Motor Storm on PS3 specs and you will recognize what I say. I haven’t had the same experience with Xbox 360. I have play both but I truly respect the speed and graphics of PS3 specs and it’s only of substance we can get more games. Finally online games is much more enjoyable with PS3 specs as it can have max 40 players for PS3 games, compared to Xbox only 16 players max.

PS3 Specs vs XBox 360 Specs (Part 3)

The only thing that the XBox 360 Elite version will have greater than the Xbox 360 premium version is the 120GB HDD (for downloading many things), a better DVD player (absolutely not an HD DVD player) that’s still one more $200 and HDMI connector, so you can play real HDTV 1080p.

XBox 360 uses HDMI v1.2 vs. PS3 specs uses HDMI v1.3. The only difference is PS3 specs HDMI 1.3 capability to play Dolby True HD surround sound and there is no dissimilarity in video.

Final opinion: you must look more than just memory to be able to decide a game that loads and saves fast and has enormous graphics. XBox 360 uses DVDs, PS3 specs uses Blu-ray. Blu-ray discs have 5x greater capacity than a DVD. So if you are searching a big game, than the PS3 games can go farther in depth and longer play time than an Xbox 360 game. This is why GoW game is so short.  The mainly significant factor to consider is the TFLOPS. PS3 specs can do 2 TFLOPS, but Xbox 360 can only do 1 TFLOP. These mean the max calculations/second. PS3 specs are basically a mini super-computer by these values. This will offer gamers the capability to have improved physics, more enemies on display, everything better with the PS3 specs.

PS3 Specs vs XBox 360 Specs (Part 2)

4 Jul 2008 In: PS3 Specs

ps3-specs-07.jpg  Just for your info, you are comparing 2 extremely different structured computer systems.
PS3 specs utilize the cell processor. It is a major CPU with another 8 SPEs. The major CPU grasps 512 kb L2 cache. Then SPEs grasp 256kb of memory each. Here is the vicious circle; the SPEs cannot access each others or the main CPU memory. This is not a big problem only if each purpose is planned for a particular SPE (i.e., AI, lighting, physics, etc.). The 8 SPEs and the main PS3 specs CPU is clocked at 3.2GHz.

The XBox 360 utilizes a CPU or GPU combo that able to share 1mb of memory in between. So the CPUs (3 Dual Core processors at 3.2GHz) gets 512kb and the GPU gets 512kb. This thing makes the Xbox 360 easier to program for. But clock speed seems to be identical as each core CPU runs at 3.2GHz. But since these are Dual Core, they must separate the speed so each core is only at 1.6GHz.

The 256GB/seconds that everybody is uproar is extremely confusing: this bandwidth amount is only accessible within the 10mb cache memory of the GPU. It is not yet accessible between the cache and the GPU.  Actually the bandwidth is only 22.4GB/seconds.

PS3 Specs vs XBox 360 Specs (Part 1)

4 Jul 2008 In: PS3 Specs

ps3-specs-03.jpg  What are the significant PS3 specs or Xbox 360 specs to look at, to build an enormous game that heaps and keep fast and have grand graphics, with additional huge features to create a game excellent?
First: XBox 360 specs has further video and system memory than PS3 specs, but PS3 specs has improved graphic clock speed.
Second: PS3 specs: L2 cache = 512kb but XBox 360 specs: L2 cache = 1mb. Which is superior in the L2 cache, PS3 specs or Xbox 360 specs?

Third: PS3 specs: 25.6 GB/seconds= major memory bandwidth, 22.4 GB/seconds= video memory bandwidth.
XBox 360 specs: 22.4 GB/seconds = major memory bandwidth, 256 GB/seconds to eDRAM, 21.6 GB/seconds to FSB. For the memory bandwidth which one is superior, PS3 specs or Xbox 360?

We try to answer: You also have to issue in the Processors 8 Core vs 3 Core. And also you must considered the Graphics Processors Unit separate engine GPU RSX on the PS3 specs with the 256mb GDDR3 VRAM committed only to display PS3 graphics. Does XBox 360 have the split video memory and processor?
I am searching the Xbox 360 manual and I don’t bear in mind reading it. So XBox 360 has to rely a great deal on the system processor and video memory since I believe it is shared with the rest of the Xbox 360 system.
And does HDMI 1.2 connector port slower at video transfer than HDMI 1.3? XBox 360 Elite use 1.2 vs PS3 specs use 1.3 HDMI. That thing will also have a turn round in presentation of graphics.

What do you feel of the new Samsung LCD TV Series 6. It seems the review is quite good, only thing is I don’t think it comes with 5 years guarantee like the 8 Series Panasonic Plasma TV.
I realized Best Denki Stores 5 year guarantee is based on decrease in value. That’s means by the 5th year, the real guarantee value possibly only 20% (not confirmed) since each year takes a depreciation hit. Does the 5 year guarantee given by Panasonic Plasma TV gives full value guarantee yet on the 5th year; or is it also based on reduction per year agreement, do you know?
We are try to answer: just saw the Samsung LCD TV Series 6 displayed at HN in Sunway Pyramid Malaysia, looks inspiring though there’s no Astro Network supply to test out. The dynamic contrast ratio of Samsung LCD TV 40a650 is 50,000. Samsung LCD TV 40a650 native contrast ratio is expected to be 10,000 ~ 20,000 and it is definitely not exceeded 20,000.

Samsung LCD TV Series 6 are those Full HD types, not the HD Ready models priced at RM2399. Well until now, I feel that Sony LCD TV and Samsung LCD TV suit me more because their colors are brighter and vivid, also good for PS3 games and movies. The existing Sharp LCD TV models have motion problems even with 100HZ flicker free types, experienced one with Planet Earth Blu-ray and say the fault rather noticeable. Maybe the Sharp LCD TV engine doesn’t recognize when to hold in video or film mode.

Best Denki, Jusco, Harvey Norman, and all those chain stores offer NON-official extended guarantee scheme to the costumers. They subcontract the extended warranty scheme to the supposed insurance company.

I want to connect my Sony Vaio to my Samsung Plasma TV make use of the VGA Connector, but the signal is not accepted by the Samsung Plasma TV. Samsung Plasma TV can connected to my HP Laptop but why not to the Sony Vaio.

My answer: you might need to check and make sure that you get your Sony Vaio screen resolution set to somewhat the Samsung Plasma TV can display. One thing I warn you that most VGA Connector inputs only support a few resolution models.
